Did you notice something interesting on the new PowerCLI Poster? No? Let me give you a hint…
Woah, hang on a tick… A vCloud Snapin? Are there cmdlets on the poster? YES!
Sweet! But before you go looking for them, I will let you know this is only a teaser. These WILL be the cmdlets when the vCloud Snapin arrives, but that won’t be for another couple months. The snapin is nearing a limited beta phase, after which they will release the snapin with the above set of cmdlets.
So, How does this affect YOU? Here’s a list:
- The direction of VMware is obviously vCloud. Learn the new terminology now!
- Even if you don’t currently run vCloud Director in-house at this time, chances are you will embrace the hybrid cloud and select a public vCloud provider. (Hopefully Bluelock.
) - I will be deprecating my UNOFFICIAL vCloud Powershell functions to make way for the OFFICIAL vCloud snapin.
- For those of you that DO run vCloud Director or have a public vCloud provider, this is going to allow you to do some amazing things!!!!!
